A DIY Anti-Aging Natural Face Cream!

This anti-aging face cream goes on smooth and absorbs into your skin fast leaving your face soft but not greasy.  This is the best natural face moisturizer I have used and it puts me in control of what goes on my face!

Essential oils are most often used for aromatherapy, but did you know many essential oils have skin care properties as well?  Since I am a working 40 year old mother of 3 (two still in diapers) I can use all the help I can get when it comes to anti-aging!  Hence, the anti-aging recipe.  I won’t go into detail for every oil out there, but here is a little bit of information on the two oils I used.

Lavender:  Lavender is known best for its calming and de-stressing properties in aromatherapy that it would only make sense for it to be so beneficial in anti-aging.  Lavender has anti-inflammatory, anti-fungal, and antioxidant properties.  Lavender is great for helping reduce fine lines, sun spots, and improve elasticity in your skin.

Lemon:  Lemon is full of Vitamin C, which we all know plays a major roll in immune boosting.  Lemon can also reduce the harm from oxidation in our bodies.  Oxidation is believed to be a major cause for aging.  Like all citrus oils, lemon can cause photosensitivity, so use cautiously if you will be spending a lot of time in the sun.

Quick Tips

Tip 1:  Depending on the temperature of your home, the face cream may become very soft or more firm.  You can use it either way and it works the same.

Tip 2: A little goes a long way.

Tip 3:  This is a face cream, the oils have a purpose other than scent (see above), we do not want to overdo the essential oils when using a product on the sensitive skin of your face.

Anti-Aging Natural Face Cream Uses

I use my anti-aging cream both in the morning and evening.  I am more generous with the amount I use in the evening because I have more absorption time.  I let all the oils work while I am sleeping.  In the mornings I use the normal amount that will allow for immediate absorption which allows me to apply my makeup immediately.

Add 20 drops of Lavender, 10 drops of eucalyptus, and 5 drops of tea tree essential oils

Tip 1:  Allowing it to cool to ALMOST solid is key to getting the smoothest body butter.

Tip 2: A little goes a long way.  You do not need globs of lotion so start with a small amount and grab a little more as you go.

Uses

I use the whipped body butter every day after my shower.  I love it because it moisturizes, but also absorbs fast so my skin feels soft and I can still get dressed right away.  With store bought lotion I would always have to wait a few minutes for the lotion to dry before I could get dressed which would cause me to skip lotion often because I was in a hurry.

Lotion bars are a great alternative to carrying around bottles of lotion that can leak in your purse or bag!  I keep a lotion bar in a resealable bag in a pocket of all my bags.  When my hands are feeling dry all I have to do is rub the lotion bar like I was washing my hands and it starts to melt enough to moisturize my hands perfectly.  Not too much, not too little, but just right.

Uses

The lotion bars are perfect for moisturizing dry hands.  They are also great for softening calluses on hard working hands.  You can also use them to treat cracked heel, just rub a generous amount on your heels and feet at night and cover your feet with socks to let the lotion really soak in and soften your feet and heels.
